  • bring learning to life by using hands-on interactive teaching and learning approaches, which are fun, multisensory and memorable.

  • teach students' how to be independent and confident learners. What to do if I don't understand a concept? How do I revise and remember information?

  • support students' social, emotional, mental and health (SEMH) by teaching them how they learn best and utilising their natural ability and superpowers!

  • support parents to support their children at home. How to help my child learn phonics or spellings, remember their times tables or improve their handwriting?

About Me

At SEN Deaf Support, I provide specialised educational support, tailored tuition and EHCP consultancy for individuals with deafness, ASC (autism), ADD/ADHD and other special educational needs and their families.

My background as an educator and personal journey to gain the right support for my own deaf and autistic daughter has led me to work as a special needs and deaf teacher and support consultant. Throughout the journey I have kept the passionate belief that as her mother and primary carer, I know my child best. You know as a mother, your gut tells you when your child is struggling because you feel it too. You just KNOW. It was this strong mother instinct that kept me battling through the records on repeat of 'she's fine.' I was determined to seek the truth and find professionals who sought the best interests of my daughter only, were able to could see what I saw and believed me.

I am a qualified primary teacher and teacher of deaf children and young people (QToD). I began my QToD training when my daughter was diagnosed as mild-moderately deaf. I have personal experience of navigating the EHCP process, from completing a parent application for an EHCP to tribunals and finally being issued an EHCP. I have many years of experience in striving to overcome the many barriers preventing my child receiving the support she should lawfully be entitled to. I am passionate about using my experience of trying to navigate through the complex EHCP process to help other SEN young people and their families. I wish I had had someone to guide me through from the beginning, to share their prior knowledge and experience, to help inform my decision making.

I have over 20 years of experience teaching and follow a holistic and interactive teaching approach to meet the unique needs of each student. Through my bespoke teaching, my students gain a unique perspective of where their strengths lie and areas which require development. This in turn gives students insight into how they learn best and the most effective and efficient ways for them to learn and study.
